  1. Destiny Song Presentation • You will find a song that deals with destiny and create a Power Point to present this song to the class. • The following is a template for your song presentation. Be sure to use backgrounds, pictures, interesting font choices, and slide transitions. • Your song clip should be no more than 30 seconds long. • All material in the presentation must be school-appropriate.

  2. Rubric • 6 pts: Includes all required information • Title, Performer, Writer, Background, Excerpt, Theme • 4 pts: Attractive Layout/Appearance • Uses slide transitions, pictures, background colors/themes • Words can be read clearly (Words do not “bleed” into background) • 2 pts: Correct MLA citation for song • 3 pts: Correct MLA citations for pictures

  3. “Title of Song” Your Name

  4. Performed by Include a picture of the performer. Be sure to cite this picture on your reference page.

  5. Written by Include a picture of the songwriter. You will probably need to research this information. The performer and the songwriter are not always the same person. Try putting the song title in quotes and “song credits” or “credits” in the search bar. Be sure to cite this picture on your reference page.

  6. Background If you can find it, Include information about what inspired the song or why it was written. If that information is not available, include some information about the performer – number of Grammys, etc. Because this information is not common knowledge, you will need to cite its source.

  7. Excerpt Put the lyrics for the section of the song you’ll be playing. Use the section that you feel is most relevant to destiny.

  8. Theme Explain what you think is the theme of song. Be prepared to defend your answer. WHY do you think this is the theme? What lyric(s) prove it?

  9. Picture References Artist/Photographer. “Title of Picture.” Type of Art (Photograph, Painting, Drawing, etc.). Name of Website. Company, Date of Creation. Web. Date of Access. brandychloe. If the title of the picture is not available, right click on picture and choose “Save As.” When the save box pops up, it will already have a title in the “File Name” box. Use that as the title. If the website is blocked, you can skip the artist/photographer and start with the title of the picture. To figure out the website company name, search it on www.whois.net.

  10. Song Reference Artist. “Song Title.” Album. Company (Record Company),Date. Medium (CD, mp3). *Try searching for this on www.amazon.com

  11. Song Clips • Insert the song clip into the Power Point if you can. If you do, you will have to save both the Power Point & the song clip onto your flashdrive. • If not, bring the song on your phone or mp3 player and have it cued up.
