  1. Atlantic.Net Announces Successful IPv6 Implementation (1888PressRelease) Atlantic.Net announces that its data center network infrastructure now supports the use of IPv6 to meet the growing bandwidth requirements of its clients. Orlando, FL - Atlantic.Net (http://www.atlantic.net/), a privately held leading hosting solutions provider, is pleased to announce the successful implementation of IPv6 (Internet protocol version 6) to their data center infrastructure. IPv6 is a 128 bit long address that offers a plethora of advantages including the allowance for the allocation of many more IP addresses than previously available with IPv4. IPv6 readiness will allow for more efficient network routing, enhanced security, increased resiliency, higher quality connectivity services, and an improved end user experience when accessing content hosted in Atlantic.Net's data center environment. The ever-increasing usage of the Internet over the past decade has gradually reduced the available IPv4 resources to service providers. Therefore, it is becoming essential for service providers to accelerate the adoption to the next generation Internet protocol, IPv6. IPv6 is seen as the "future of the Internet" and will soon become the standard Internet protocol used globally. "We are excited to enhance our infrastructure with IPv6 because we are a futuristic company, always looking to stay ahead of the curve," said Brett Haines, Director of operations for Atlantic.Net. "Our IPv6 update to our data center infrastructure demonstrates our company's forward-looking nature." Compared to IPv4, IPv6 includes enhanced security, which provides increased data confidentiality, integrity and authentication at the network layer.

  2. IPv6 will also become available for clients that utilize cloud servers in the coming weeks.
