Recognizing the vital role of the supply chain to Canada's economy, the Council is committed to enhancing the sector's ability to attract and retain workers at all levels and across the full range of functions, and to advancing the skills of those workers." • Current Issues • Upcoming Board Meeting – The Council will be having its next Board meeting on Wednesday, October 20, at the Paramount Conference and Event Venue, in Vaughan, Ont., in conjunction with the IWLA Annual Conference. All stakeholders are welcome to attend the Board meeting. in person or via teleconference. Contact Margie Stefanich at the Council office or at mstefanich@supplychaincanda.org for directions or dial-in information. • Collaboration as a Process (Continued) – Our next Association Forum is scheduled for this Friday, September 10, from 9 am to 2 pm. Interest in this forum has expanded to include 22 representatives from 15 different organizations, a healthy increase in interest over our first session. Ask your association about the process! Are you a true collaborator? • Celebrating Success – Canada’s Sector Council Program has been operating for 25 years. The CSCSC, a relative newcomer to the sector council family, is looking for anecdotes, best practices and examples of where we have been able to demonstrate our impact, as part of this celebration. Have we made a difference in your organization, in your association, or in the work of your members? Drop us a short note with the details to kmaynard@supplychaincanada.org. Your input will be used both internally by the Council, and with material developed by the Alliance of Sector Councils (TASC) (www.councils.org) to demonstrate the value that sector councils have, and the impact that we make on the labour market in Canada. • What We Need From You • Focus groups have been confirmed to review 13 new occupational standards. The sessions will take place in Toronto, and at locations across Canada via facilitated WebEx. See http://supplychaincanada.org/en/occupational-standards-II for details, including dates of sessions that may interest you or your members.
