Disebelahbaratmengalirsungaiprogo,yangberawaldarijateng, dansungaiopakdisebelahtimur yang bersumberdipuncakibukota DIY adalahyogyakarta, secaraadminitratif DIY dibagidalam 1 kotayogyakartadan 4 kabupaten,sleman,bantul,kulonprogo,gunungkidul.
