PROLOGUE Home The idea of a Common Project between schools of different countries was not new. There was already a relationship between the Greek and the Spanish school and successful eTwinningProjects had been developed. The decisive moment came when another partner was found in another school and an association was formally created in the context of an ambitious Comenius Project called “Sharing Past, Present and Future”. The driving force which set all going was the wish and the need to know more about Europe, to meet people and to make friends. The project was the means to get into contact, to work together and learn from each other. In class the students, guided by their teachers, developed interesting contributions to the project and shared the results with their friends abroad. The quality of these digital products speak for the participants’ high motivation. The visits were not an additional or extra activity but an integral part of the project. In the visits students, teachers and parents made the experience of meeting people from abroad with different cultural backgrounds. Every visit was a memorable event. When the students came back home from their trip they felt very enthusiastic and made everybody else interested in the foreign country. Making friends abroad is like constructing bridges. Learning a language is like growing into another culture. To forget about prejudices; to be open-minded is perhaps the most precious human attitude to our fellow being.
