Fall 2017 Enrollment First-time Freshmen: • Applications received: 32,007 (31,672 Fall 2016) • Students enrolled: 4458 (3208 Fall 2016) • Average applicant GPA: 3.34 (3.33 Fall 2016) • Average SAT: 1080 (last year 1037) Upper Division Transfers: • Applications received: 17,234 (16,758 Fall 2016) • Students enrolled: 4891 (4317 Fall 2016) • Average applicant GPA: 3.08 (3.07 Fall 2016)

Fall 2017 Enrollment Graduate Students: • Applications received: 8824 (9760 Fall 2016) • Students enrolled: 2011 (2189 Fall 2016) Financial Aid: • 23,670 students awarded financial aid • Over $166M in state financial aid awarded • Over $276M in federal financial aid awarded • Over 2600 scholarships awarded • 520 AB540 students

SJSU Cares • Students facing economic crisis at SJSU should be referred to the Financial Aid & Scholarship Office: • In a 2014 “Student Food Access Survey” of 4972 SJSU respondents, 39% indicated they had sometimes or often not eaten because they didn’t have money for food. 49.6% of respondents indicated they had cut the size of meals or skipped a meal due to lack of money for food. And 20.9% of respondents indicated they had not eaten for a whole day due to lack of money for food (Attachment A). • 10% of CSU students indicated they were homeless in a recent survey • Assistance form available at sjsu.edu/sjsucares
