  2. What is this service? The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony is a service held in Hiroshima to pray for the realization of everlasting world peace. This ceremony is attended by many citizens’ and is held in front of the monument for Hiroshima(city of peace)

  3. The Bombing… During WWІІ on august 1945 the United States dropped two atomic bombs over 2 Japanese cities, Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Within 2-4 months of the bombing in Hiroshima 90 000-166 000 innocent people died and in Nagasaki 60 000- 80 000 innocent people died. The bombing had such an effect that the Japanese decided to surrender to the U.S.

  4. How is it commemorated? At exactly 8:15am (when the bomb was dropped) the peace bell is rung, the sirens go off all over the city and all the citizens have a minutes silence and pray for the realization of everlasting world peace.
