  10. Earning an Endorsement (26 credits) To earn an endorsement a student must successfully complete: • 1 additional credit in math • 1 additional credit in science

  16. A student and parent shall specify in writing an endorsement the student intends to earn upon entering Grade 9.

  17. Distinguished Level of Achievement (26 credits) To earn a distinguished level of achievement a student must: • successfully complete the curriculum requirements for at least one endorsement • including 4 credits in science & • 4 credits in mathematics to include Algebra II.

  18. Performance Acknowledgements • A student may earn a performance acknowledgement on their transcript for outstanding performance on any of the following: • Completing at least 12 hours of college academic courses including those taken for dual credit and advanced technical credit. • In bilingualism and biliteracy • On a college AP • On the PSAT, SAT or ACT • For earning a nationally or internationally recognized industry certification

Students who are in the top ten percent of their graduating class and graduate with the distinguished level of achievement are eligible for automatic admission to any public university in Texas. University of Texas is currently automatically admitting the top 7%--this may change. THEY MUST: Graduate in the top 10 percent and graduate with the distinguished level of achievement. Submit an Application. Provide SAT and/or ACT scores (and take the TSI if needed). Pay application fee. Top 10% Rule
