  1. Collective Impact Rotary Club of Wellington

  2. Mission Statement • To promote social responsibility and ethical practices within our community through proactive project-focused volunteering.

  3. Purpose • We create sustainable and cooperative partnerships with institutions and individuals that enable opportunities for meaningful contributions through volunteering within our community.

  4. Proposed Structure Roles: • Director • Communications • Finance Meeting format: Meetings will follow this four-week rotation:

  5. Fit within RCW We propose that a Collective Impact member be invited to sit on the RCW Board. This would involve attending monthly Board meetings and this person would be the official line of communication and contact between Collective Impact and RCW. We would like to have access to RCW’s administration services, e.g. accounting for membership fees, holdings funds on behalf of CI.

  6. Questions from RCW for Collective Impact: Their Answers

  7. Rotary Related Questions Is Collective Impact a ‘bridge’ between Rotaract and Rotary? Is the idea that Collective Impact members will later become Rotarians? If members of Collective Impact want to join RCW (or any other Rotary club) we don’t have a problem with that. Technically, Collective Impact members are already RCW members, as we fall under a RCW committee. However, we differ from your regular members, in that we are subject to different rules and guidelines. Collective Impact will have its own rules, which are based on Rotary principles. The host club and its regular members will continue to function according to your rules and constitution, and Collective Impact will function in line with its own, different rules. We are considering a constitution.

  8. Rotary Related Questions cont. Why is the name Collective Impact being used and not Rotary? What is the connection between Collective Impact and RCW then? Collective Impacts sits as a committee of RCW. Therefore, Collective Impact members are members of the RCW.

  9. Rotary Related Questions cont. What does this mean in terms of younger members of RCW and younger members in Rotary generally? Collective Impact has no agenda for younger members of RCW. If they want to come to our meetings and they fit our criteria, then that is fine. Don’t forget that every four weeks there will be after-work drinks for RCW and Collective Impact members.

  10. Governance Collective Impact will sit under a committee of RCW and be subject to a separate set of rules and guidelines to RCW regular members. We look at this as a partnership. The reason we have not established Collective Impact as a stand-alone group is that we want to try out a different kind of “Rotary” club - one which calls itself by a name other than Rotary, which has a different and simplified structure, but which is based on the same principles of Rotary.

  11. Projects Members of Collective Impact would like to have full access to the existing committees within RCW. In the beginning Collective Impact will not have its own projects established. We also see RCW projects as a way to interact with the members of the Rotary Club of Wellington. We would also like to see experienced members of RCW to act as mentors on projects initiated by Collective Impact.
