  2. Bell Work 2/11 Create a list of the most important literary devices along with their definition that we have discussed throughout the poetry unit. Next, create a list of things you must do when annotating.

  3. 5 mins Bell work. What have we learned so far? 10 mins Create a list of important poetry vocabulary and annotating rules. 15 mins Read article twice. Annotate thoroughly. 20 mins Response questions and written response.Separate sheet of paper. End of hour Turn in article of the week. Then Independently read.

  8. Gladys Cardiff Gladys Cardiff (born 1942) is a poet and academic, with interests in Native American, African-American and American literature. She was an associate professor at Oakland University from 1999 to 2013. Cardiff is of Irish and Welsh descent on her mother's side, and she is descended from the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians on her father's side. She makes use of her cultural heritage in her work, referencing especially Cherokee place names in her poetry.

  9. Poetry Analysis Quiz • Annotate the poem. • Write an analysis of the poem. Identify key ideas. Include an explanation of all the poetic elements. Be sure to: Include a strong topic sentence and conclusion sentence. Include title and author of the poem. Include multiple direct quotes from the poem to exemplify your analysis. 10-12 sentences.
