Constructing a Successful Corporate Partnership EPA National Air Quality Conference February 12, 2014 Elaine Loyack, Program Coordinator Triangle Air Awareness
The Goal: Develop a toolkit for local employers in an effort to persuade them to adopt a teleworking policy and help guide them to successful implementation.
Over 100,000 vehicles that travel this 11-mile stretch daily. NCDOT wants to cut that number by 30,000.
A little bird told me… It started with a conversation.
It grew into a collaboration.
We’ve moved forward by staying in touch. • GoToMeeting with other PR, Marketing, and Communications managers • Defined tasks for Citrix and Triangle Air • Conceptualized how the final product would look • Discussed how the toolkit would be accessed
We’ve sought support from other organizations. • Regional transit authority • NCDOT • Regional Transportation Alliance • Research Triangle Park Foundation • Council of Governments
The cost of working with a corporation like Citrix? “We will not charge you anything. We are more than happy to provide you with content and key messaging of how Citrix is enabling telecommuting based on the materials that we currently have.”
Why the goodwill? • To be a good neighbor • To reinforce image as a credible resource • To demonstrate how Citrix is helping businesses solve problems
As a good neighbor… From this: To this:
As a credible resource… • Thought leader • Global presence
As a partner in problem-solving… Citrix offers a multitude of solutions across a diverse array of technologies for businesses of varying sizes and service providers.
Next Steps Complete toolkit. Formalize partnerships. Secure endorsements. Launch!
Take-home Messages Start a conversation. Look for synergy. Ask for help. Define goals and roles. Keep talking.
