Terms of References of SC6 WGs • WG 1 Terms of Reference : Services and protocols in the OSI Physical and Data Link Layer. • WG 7 Terms of Reference : Network and transport layer services and protocols. • WG 8 Terms of Reference : Directory services and protocols. • WG 9 Terms of Reference : Abstract Syntax Notation One (ASN.1) and Registration. • SC6 is responsible for 284 published International Standards and 57 open project items Ho-In Jeon, Kyung-Won University

Resolutions on 3 IEEE Fast Tracks • ISO/IEC DIS 8802-11/DAM4, Further Higher Data Rate Extension in the 2.4 GHz Band (IEEE 802.11g) has been accepted as the IS. • ISO/IEC DIS 8802-11/DAM5, Spectrum and Transmit Power Management Extensions in the 5 GHz band in Europe (IEEE 802.11h) has been accepted as the IS. • That the ISO and IEC Secretaries-General be requested to initiate the fast-track procedure as from the Sep. 7 on ISO/IEC 8802-11/DAM6 (IEEE 802.11i) and the WAPI proposal of the CNB, including the one month review period, it being understood that irrespective of the results of the review period both documents will then enter the five month balloting period, the votes will close on the same date and comments received will be addressed in a joint ballot resolution meeting. IS Activities of WAPI and 11i • Two FT ballots terminate on March time frame. • Ballot comments from JTC1 P members will be available from March. • Ballot resolution meeting for the two independent Fast Track comments will be held based on the following options: • During the Plenary meeting in June • One week prior to Prague meeting • In Geneva, during April time frame Ho-In Jeon, Kyung-Won University

Work Scope Extension of WG1 • Revised SC6 WG1 Terms of reference • Physical and data link layer services and protocols, and additional services and protocols running directly over these layers that are not being standardized by technical groups within JTC1, ISO and IEC. • Resolution • WG1 decided to adopt the proposed TOR. • The SC6 plenary asked WG1 to receive some comments from SC6 P member countries to avoid any possible conflicts. • WG1 decided to have interim meeting in Juju Island, Korea to take care of the comments resolution and other businesses. Ad Hoc Wireless Network with QoS • Status on the new proposal, 6N12959, • “MAC/PHY standard for ad hoc wireless network to guarantee QoS in an industrial work environment” • If there are no technical or major editorial issues and upon resolution of comments on the WD circulation, SC 6 further provides advance authorization for a CD ballot. Status Report on WG7 and 8 • Revised CD text of RMCP-2 (Specification for Simplex Group Applications) going for a FCD ballot from the WG7 Interim meeting in October 2005. • 6N 12904 (Second WD of RMCP-3: Specification for N-plex Group Applications) goes for the CD ballot. • 6N 12954 (Mobile Multicast Communications) goes for the NP ballot. • 6N 12955 (Session Management Protocol) goes for the NP ballot. • SC 6 authorizes Working Group 8 to prepare an NP for amendments to the Directory standards addressing IPv6 and other related issues, including RFC 1006 and Transport Layer, and to forward this proposal to the SC 6 Secretariat for ballot.
