  2. INTERACTION • Overall level of interactivity • Question types (rhetorical, open, closed) and frequency • Invites questions from participants and gives sufficient time for formulation • Checks comprehension on a regular basis • Explains abstract concepts with clear examples

  3. LANGUAGE (Lexis and Grammar) • Assumes background knowledge of topic • Uses topic-specific vocabulary (technical language) • Lexical choice • Grammar issues • Emphasises important points via repetition, signposting or giving examples

  4. PRESENTATION SKILLS • Beginnings, endings and transition points • Body language and gestures • Uses humour / jokes / anecdotes • Uses appropriate visual aids • Rate of speech • Eye-contact • Pauses within phrases and between sentences
