  8. 5. Use items in Menu to Complete Expertise Profile • Suggested items to include at a minimum: • Contact info • Expertise • Add’l terms • Languages

Expertise Profile (cont.) • COS Expertise contains nearly 480,000 profiles submitted by researchers, scholars and other experts from more than 1,600 universities, government agencies, and other R&D organizations from around the world. • Used to find collaborators, other experts • Can be used as a basis for preparation of CV

  10. 6. Set up COS Funding Alert Go to Workbench Home

  11. 6a. Add a Search

  12. 6b. Select search criteria

  13. 6b(1) Search Criteria • Suggested criteria: Keywords, activity location, Requirements, and Citizenship* • You do not want your search so narrow that it doesn’t yield results; yet it shouldn’t be too broad * Some opportunities are restricted by geographic location or citizenship

  14. 6b(2) Select keywords from COS Keyword browser Note: “Exploding” keywords will result in the selection of everything under the folder.

  15. 7. Do the Search Once keywords are selected do the search This will insure that there are opportunities for you. You may need to refine your search.

  16. 8a. View your search

  17. 8b. Save your search

  18. 8c. Name your search & save

  19. You can have up to 5 saved searches

  20. Workbench Features • You can access your Workbench anywhere you have an internet connection. • You can track funding opportunities for changes or updates.
