UNFPA: Population & Development Data Collection & Data Entry: Supporting • Population Censuses, Demographic Health Surveys and other Reproductive Health Surveys • Capacity building in planning and questionnaire design • Regional partners to develop a regional strategic approach to DHS’s in the Pacific • Complementary surveys • Population-related research e.g. GBV Data Analysis & Dissemination • Engaging academic institutions for in-depth data analysis – USP, ANU, Waikato University • Targeted packaging and dissemination of population information

  4. 2007 Fiji Housing & Population Census Pre-census Communication & Publicity Technical assistance (pre-census & ongoing) • developing campaign plan, • develop Census message • identifying appropriate materials & channels for dissemination • consultative monitoring process; • utilisation of media outlets (radio, newspaper countdown, TV, posters, handouts • targeted outlets: schools, tertiary institutions, provincial & local government buildings/services, general public outlets • visibility of census enumerators – branded reflector vests Collaboration • Fiji Islands Bureau of Statistics (FIBOS) • Fiji government’s Department of Information • Line ministries
