When should you wash your hands? • After using the restroom • Coughing and sneezing • Touching your eyes, nose, or mouth • Before food preparation • After playing any sport • After exercising • After recess • Before you eat ** Can you think of anymore situations that you should wash your hands?

  4. Important areas to make sure are washed!! See picture for visual help! ** Many people when they are washing their hands miss important areas to scrub. Some of these areas include: • Nail beds • Thumbs • Creases on palm • In-between fingers • Very tops of fingers

  5. Why Wash your hands? • Can help prevent sicknesses such as the cold and the flu. • Help prevent the spreading of germs • Can prevent food-borne illnesses ( Can get sick when food is prepared in a non-clean environment) • Can keep you healthy! • Helps prevent germs • Helps prevent bacteria ** Many germs and bacteria love to live on your hands!! That’s why it is important that you wash your hands as often as you need to!**
