  2. What Is A Lawful Marriage? THERE IS MARRIAGE WHICHIS LAWFUL SUCH MARRIAGE IS ESTABLISHED BY A COVENANT OF JEHOVAH ONLY IN THIS RELATIONSHIP DOES GOD ALLOW SEXUAL COHABITATION

And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” Matthew 19:3-6

PROSKOLLAO “to adhere to closely, be faithfully devoted to, join” A Strong Bond IN THE BEGINNING… • GOD INTENDED TWO PEOPLE TO BE “GLUED TOGETHER” • MARRIAGE IS NOT ONLY A SETTING APART UNTO EACH OTHER, AND A CONSECRATING TO EACH OTHER, BUT IT IS A SETTING APART AND A CONSECRATION OF THAT UNION TO GOD MATTHEW 19:5 ”And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?”

One Flesh IN THE BEGINNING… • THEY HAVE BECOME ONE PERSON IN THE UNION OF MARRIAGE • THEY ABANDON THEMSELVES TO EACH OTHER • THEY BECOME THE TOTAL POSSESSION OF EACH OTHER • THEY ARE ONE IN MIND AND SPIRIT AND GOALS AND DIRECTION AND EMOTION MATTHEW 19:6 ”Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”

A Divine Bond “BERITH YAWEH” • THE AGREEMENT: In any covenant there must be terms to be observed by both partiesTHE VOWS: a solemn pledge to accept and live by the terms of the agreementTHE RATIFICATION: A public record of the fact that an agreement has been reached • BERITH YAWEH: the witness of God to the terms of the covenant MALACHI 2:14 ”…the Lord hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.”
