  3. Leisure - definition • Leisure is our free time when all obligatory duties have been fulfilled. • It can be either passive or active. • TASK: • List 3 active and 3 passive leisure activities which you may undertake. Contem Studies yr 12

  4. Recreation - definition • Recreation is active leisure. • It is purposeful and is used as a tool for catharsis (stress relief) and promoted relaxation. Contem Studies yr 12

  7. Leisure is for all • Leisure encompasses a philosophy of sport for all. There is no elitism or competitive element to it. • In fact leisure attempts to involve as many people as possible, regardless of ability (mass participation). Contem Studies yr 12
