  2. WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO TODAY? Physical fitness has taken a storm among GenZ and millennials today. Social Media is inspiring millions of people via fitness influencers who launch their 15, 30, or 45-day quick transformation exercise programs. Kick-starting your fitness routine is a commendable decision but the first step towards a healthier lifestyle would involve careful consideration, especially when it comes to heart. You should consider getting your heart checkup done by Dr Ranjit Jagtap, MBBS, MS, a reliable cardiothoracic Surgeon of Ram Mangal Heart Foundation, Pune. The foundation has served 12,067 happy patients with phenomenal heart-related services.

  3. WHY IS A HEART CHECKUP EVEN REQUIRED? Dr Ranjit Jagtap Clinic states the key reason, when your body starts participating in an average to high activity, there is a slight increase in the risk of heart attack or cardiac complication. Many people blame nature for the sudden deaths in gyms but the real reason is not taking heart health seriously and not getting the checkup done on time. Before starting a physical activity check, if you’re someone who has a weak internal medical condition or is suffering from hypertension or has any family history related to the heart. If yes, then you should deeply take care of yourself and consult him for a proper checkup. Being a junk food addict is another sign of a bad internal medical condition. Choosing exercise just for the weight loss purpose is something which medical professionals strictly deny.

  4. BASIC TESTS FOR CHECKING HEART HEALTH BEFORE STARTING GYM/ EXERCISE 1. Blood Pressure: We consider blood pressure as normal when it is between 120/80. It is considered elevated when it is between 120–129/80. Whereas when it is between 130– 139/80–89 then it comes under stage 1 which counts as hypertension. You are supposed to make some lifestyle changes and modifications to your diet.

  5. BASIC TESTS FOR CHECKING HEART HEALTH BEFORE STARTING GYM/ EXERCISE 2. Blood Sugar: This test tells whether a person is diabetic or whether there is any risk of being diabetic in the future. There are two tests: Fasting Blood Sugar Test HbA1c Test

  6. LIPID PROFILE TEST In this test, you are supposed to do overnight fasting and then give your blood sample in the morning. Then the doctor checks the patient’s level for VLDL which should be less than 30 mg/dl, HDL which should be, for females more than 50 mg/dl and for males more than 40 mg/dl, Triglyceride which should be less than 150 mg/dl and Total Cholesterol which should be less than 200 mg/dl.

  7. HSCRP Consider this test as it describes vascular inflammation. If the inflammation level is higher in your body then it damages the blood vessels and also increases the risk of heart attack and stroke. If the HsCrp level is <1 mg/lit then the patient comes under low risk. If results are between 1–3 mg/lit then the patient comes under moderate risk. If results are more than 3 mg/lit then there is a high risk.

  8. COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT (CBC) TEST This test checks the total oxygen- carrying capacity of haemoglobin in the body. Haemoglobin is responsible for taking oxygen to every other part of the body. This overall checks the haemoglobin level to mark it as good normal or low. So baseline CBC test is a must.

  9. KIDNEY FUNCTION TEST AND LIVER FUNCTION TEST Kidney and Liver are very important organs of your body. This test is a must as it helps to check if organs are functioning normally or not.
