  3. Welcome to the 4th Quarter 2018 APDIS meeting • We are a new organization and working hard to come up to speed with the ‘paperwork’. • By-laws are in process for our group, unfortunately we all need rules • In the meantime please keep in mind, this is a group of CDI specialists who are gathering with a goal of education and inter-CDI networking only • Please keep that in mind if asked for contact information from anyone involved in the group. Please respect our privacy and do not share that information without permission. • The goals will remain the same, our leadership team is united in that belief. We also want to protect our members

  4. We are Little , BUT FIERCE! • We are about 150+ strong! • We need to celebrate our growth…food for thought! • If you are interacting with someone from another pediatric hospital and they do CDI, ask them to join • We really want to capture as many as possible, bring them into the fold but remember the goals!

  9. DON’T FORGET TO NOMINATE! As it was last year, You will have a chance to nominate PEDIATRIC CDI OF THE YEAR!!!

  10. DISCLAIMER • Earlier this year I asked a question in the APDIS forum as to anyone having and utilizing a definition for pediatric heart failure.  In that there were no responses for a comprehensive definition, I went to the cardiologists, cardiovascular intensivist’s and cardiothoracic surgeons in our hospital to ask for their help in developing a definition for pediatric heart failure that we could utilize as our institutional criteria.  Wolfson Children’s Hospital is a 250 bed regional children’s hospital that performs approximately 225 cardiothoracic procedures annually.  In utilizing this definition for pediatric heart failure, we are not proposing this as the one and only definition for pediatric heat failure that other institutions  should adopt, but it is a definition based in science and is accepted by our hospital’s Medical Board and utilized by our medical staff.

  11. Interesting Work on Pediatric Heart Failure
