  2. General note about Walk/Hikes All walks/hikes begin at 10 am. Parking, restrooms and picnic tables are available. We encourage you to bring a lunch to enjoy with the group after the walk. Rain cancels.

  3. El Retiro Park to Malaga Creek El Retiro Park to Malaga Creek: Meet at El Retiro Park in Torrance south of PCH at 10 am. Turn south from PCH (Hwy 1) on Vista del Parque. Follow this street until the park entrance road then turn east. We will walk through the residential area to Torrance Beach, and from there walk on the beach toward Malaga Cove until we reach Malaga Creek, then back to El Retiro Park, where we will have lunch. There are short inclines on the way to the beach and back. For those who prefer a paved surface rather than sand, the group may split and some take an alternate path north (instead of south toward Malaga creek) from Torrance Beach. Alt. Routes (Blue) Meet here Main Route (red)

  4. PV Interpretive Center Alt. Extension (Blue) Meet in front of the Pointe Vincente Interpretive Center located at 31501 Palos Verdes Drive West, RPV. From PCH take Hawthorne Blvd. South (toward the ocean), turn left on PV drive and follow the signs for the Interpretive Center. Keep right after your exit and park in the lower lot that faces the main building if possible, otherwise additional parking is available. Main Route (red)

  5. Hermosa Greenbelt & Strand Meet at the parking lot of Kiwanis Clubhouse at Hermosa’s Valley Park: 2515 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach. Park in the lot behind the clubhouse if spaces are available or also on Valley Drive. The walk is on the greenbelt to Herondo St. then to the Strand and back via 26th Street. Easy, flat walking all the way. Meet here

  6. Valmonte Canyon & Fern Creek Trails Meet in the parking lot Ernie Howlett Park accessed from Hawthorne Blvd. The walk circles the park and includes both the Valmonte Canyon Trail and the Fern Creek Trail. Some up and down with an elevation change of 200 ft. City View with Extension (Blue) Meet here Park Entrance, both right and left turns are permitted

  7. Highridge Park to McBride Trail Meet at the parking lot of Highridge Park - near the intersection of Highridge Rd and Crestridge Rd. Highridge road can be accessed from Hawthorne to the north of the map or from Crest Road shown on the map. 200 feet elevation change - down then up. After arriving at the Peninsula Riding Club in the first mile, cross the parking lot to pickup the trail and continue south. Start Meet here
