The Cowans have launched an eco-friendly business dedicated to sustainability and environmental appeal. They utilize various materials such as LEED lights for energy efficiency, renewable cork flooring, and eco-friendly concrete countertops made from recycled materials. Their construction incorporates steel and minimal wood ensures durability and recyclability. The innovative heating system uses waste oil from vehicle maintenance, and their parking lot features reflective concrete. Committed to reducing their carbon footprint, they aim to recycle all materials in future demolitions.

The Cowan's decided to start an eco-friendly business because it is the right thing to do and it appeals to the environment.
Materials used… • Leed light: it saves a lot of energy, it controls the temperature. • Cork flooring: its renewable, and it comes from the bark off of trees. Reduces the sound of noise, durable. • Concrete countertop: Eco-friendly, made from bottles, concrete, safety glass, coins, and bolts.
Materials used.. (continued) • Construction: constructed from steel, little wood. It is long lasting, renewable and the leftover was recycled. • Parking lot: the parking lot was made of concrete. It was used because it doesn’t get hot like asphalt and it reflects light.
Atmosphere and Energy.. • The Cowan’s tire business gets its heating from the waste oil form cars that they’ve worked on.. • RECYCLED OIL • Stones – lizard friendly environment
It took the Cowan’s.. a year to build the building, and their still not finished.
Recycled material that was used.. • There was a certain amount of dry wall, and the ceiling and the floor both are renewable. • When the building is knocked down it can be recycled, it all came from North Carolina.
Recycled material that was used.. (continued) • Oil waste is used for heat. There is a system that filters the used oil and its used to heat the building
Of the five buildings they have owned.. This one is the first and only Eco-friendly building – but all the buildings that were used can still be put to use.
