  4. Background - South & North Korea • Armistice (1953) • MDL dividing the country • 2kms of DMZ • 1km on each side • Full of mines, guns, etc • No phone, electricity, mail, road connection • Different from US-Canada border • Similar to US-Mexico Border but worse • picture on blackboard

  5. JSA & Panmunjom • Place where armistice meeting was held • Only place where two Koreas meet • Divided by a single concrete on the road • Over that line and dead
