The Interlopers (p. 41) By Saki Hector Hugh Munro (1870-1916) was a British novelist and short story writer who wrote under the pseudonym (pen name), Saki.At age 44, Saki volunteered to fight in WWI (22nd Battalion). He wrote a number of short stories from the trenches and was promoted to Lance Sergeant (full Corporal) in September of 1916. • On 16 November 1916, while serving near the French town of Beaumount-Hamel, Hector Hugh Munro was fatally shot by a German sniper's bullet. According to several sources his last words were: "Put that damned cigarette out!”The Literature Network

  5. Assignment U2L3 Interview Read "how to conduct an interview” (within lesson) Imagine that you are George Stroumboulopoulos, host of CBC'sThe Hour. (info link in lesson) As George, you are speaking with two men - a relative of Ulrich and a relative of Georg. Write the interview that would ensue as outlined in the lesson. Include seven to ten questions, to which the relatives will respond with more than just "yes" or "no". Your interview will reflect that you have done some thinking as to what happened before and after the story!
