  4. Winning Prom Theme • The theme for Prom 2012 is “Tonight, Tonight.” Colors for this theme are black, ocean blue, and grey.

  5. PROM 2012 • Event Date: April 27th, 2012 • $25.00 per person • DEADLINE to pay: April 20th • Pictures begin @ 4:00-11:00

  6. PROM 2012 Mr. Freddie will begin collecting Prom money Thursday, March 29th, 2012 in the Main Commons area during lunch.

  7. PROM 2012 • Seniors, sign up for your picture time beginning Wednesday, April 18th-April 25thduring lunch. • Located outside the student store.

  8. HEY SENIORS!!! • The billboard in front of 200 hall will be dedicated to the Class of 2012. • In order to support our class, please bring any senior picture/portrait you have to Amber Huggins or Laura Bird by this week!!!! • We would greatly appreciate it. Remember, it’s our last year, make it memorable 

  9. Congratulations!! • Mrs. Aringe has been accepted to the ALICE program at Duke this summer. This is a computer programming course for the creation of the virtual world. Good job Mrs. Aringe. • Best of wishes and good luck!

  18. BigSun Scholarship • All student athletes are eligible for this award • Must be a senior attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in a sport at that institution or community • www.bigsunathletics.com for more info • Deadline: June 22, 2012 • Amount of Award: $500

  19. 2012 “People Helping People” Scholarship • Must be a US citizen and a resident of NC under NCGS 116 143.1 and is eligible for in-state tuition. • Exemplify the membership leadership, excellence of character, integrity and community involvement. • Applicants should not be a director, employee, or family member of an employee of the State Employee’s Credit Union or the SECU Foundation. • DEADLINE: April 5, 2012

  20. Free-Laptop!!!! • UNCP Friends of the Library is offering several technology scholarships, awarding two laptop computers to incoming freshmen from Robeson County. • DEADLINE: May 1, 2012 • www.uncp.edu/library/friends/fresh_school_guide.pdf

  21. Selective Service • If you are a man ages 18-25 and living in the US, then you must register with Selective Service. According to law a man must register with Selective Service within 30 days of his 18th birthday. • Register at any Post Office or online at http://ww.ss.gov

  22. UNC Chapel Hill • If you are interested in attending UNC Chapel Hill and you are a Junior. Please come by to see Ms. Karen. • We can only take the first 15 students who register for Project Uplift.

  23. Southeastern Medical Center • Southeastern Regional medical Center is looking for dedicated students to join the hospital Junior Volunteer program this summer. • Candidates must be between the ages of 14 by (June 1st) and 18. • All Junior Volunteers must have an 80% grade average or higher. • See Ms. Kathy in Guidance for na application. • DEADLINE: April 27, 2012

  24. SAT & ACT Announcement • Seniors and Juniors: If you eat free or reduced lunch you may be eligible for a fee waiver for the SAT Test and College Applications. See your Guidance Counselor for information.

  26. Special Olympics Robeson County • Special Olympics Robeson County will be hosting its 4thAnnual Golf Tournament on April 6 2012 @ Pinecrest Golf Club. Each school is asked to support Special Olympics by sponsoring a hole ($100), fielding a team ($200) or both. • If you are interested and need a form, contact Sandra Evans at evanss.psrc@robeson.k12.nc.us

  27. Superintendents Academic Awards Ceremony • Ceremony will be held Thursday, May 17, 2012, at 7:00 pm @ Givens Performing Arts Center on the campus of UNCP.

  29. National Honor Technical Society • Students who will be joining National Honor Technical Society on March 29, 2012 the dress code is Church attire. • Please be at RCC by 6:00 to meet Ms. Caulder.

  30. SGA • There will be Student Government meetings Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons this week. • Don’t forget to bring spring colored streamer! • Come to Room 814 at 3:10pm each day.

  31. HOSA Doughnuts • All HOSA members see Mrs. Tina or Mrs. Tyra for HOSA Doughnut Fundraiser Forms. • Doughnuts are $6.00 • Any interested staff member please see HOSA members for DOUGHNUTS. • Forms due: April 20th • Delivery: April 25th

  32. Student Government: • Student Government Students planning to go to Carowinds please come by Room 501 to pick-up your permission slips by Tuesday March 27th . • Money & Permission Slips are Due by April 5th.

  33. National Science Honor Society • National Science Honor Society and Student Government Students come by before leaving school today to get permission slips for Science Tots and Carowinds. • Today is the LAST DAY to pick them up in Room 501.

  34. National Science Honor Society: • National Science Honor Society Students going to Union Chapel for Science Tot’s must meet Saturday from 8-10 in Room 501 to go over experiments. • Students: it is a MANDATORY MEETING Saturday. If you don’t come you cannot go on the trip.

  35. Attention All Students! • Southeastern Regional Medical Center is looking for dedicated students to join the hospital Junior Volunteer program this summer. Congratulations Purnell Swett HS JROTC Rifle Team!!! • First time in 17 years we are in 1st Place during the PSRC-JROTC county rifle match. • Best shooter- Cadet Command Sergeant Major Terry Deese. • Most improved shooter- Cadet 1st Sergeant Joshua Rogers. • 3 out of 5 cadets made the conference team: Terry Deese, Joshua Rogers, and Jose Osuna.

  38. Congratulations JROTC • Congratulations to Purnell Swett JROTC, they came in 1st place in the Mini Drill on Thursday March 22nd and came in 1st place in the Raider Competition on Friday March 23rd.

  44. Dressing for Success • Teachers are encouraged to offer classroom incentives to students who “Dress for Success.” Each week a student will be randomly selected by administration to receive a $10 gift card to www.MyLocker.net for the purchase of Purnell Swett gear.
