Why are we here today? • Introduce a new set of energy efficiency programs available to your business, and your customers served by Peoples/North Shore in the 2nd half of 2011 • SB 1918 establishes gas savings mandates: save .2% of sales by May 31, 2012, increases to a 1.5% annual goal by 2019 to provide a cumulative savings of 8.6% in 2020 • Ideally make it easier for your business to understand these programs, ties to other utility energy efficiency efforts

Program Objectives • Assist customers to improve energy efficiency in buildings • Continue to build knowledge and infrastructure to support greater energy efficiency with customers and Trade Allies • Move the market for high efficiency equipment and services • Save 13.5 million therms over next three years

Peoples/North Shore Program Status • October 1, 2010 – filed plan with ICC: 8 programs, 4 targeting Commercial, Industrial customers • Currently awaiting an ICC response • Anticipating some changes might be required to our plan • We are planning for a June 1st Launch of New Programs, Services you will learn about today

Key Message • To be successful, we need to work together to move the market share of high efficiency equipment, services • At the end of the day, this is how the program is evaluated • Our emphasis will be spending time, incentive dollars where it is most effective: demonstrated moves in the market • Your involvement will help do that, and identify other ways the program can help (ally awareness, education, etc.)

Residential Overview: 4 Core Programs • Prescriptive – move market for condensing boilers, furnaces • Multifamily– Direct install, opportunities for Envelope/HVAC retrofits (jointly delivered with ComEd) • Behavior Change – comparative reports, advice to homeowners • Whole House Existing Homes – retrofits for homes, air sealing, insulation, HVAC upgrades

C&I Overview: 4 Core Programs • Prescriptive– boiler tune ups, steam trap repair/replacement, boiler reset controls, condensing furnaces / boilers, etc. • Custom– heat recovery, process changes, controls, building envelope, etc. ……requires PRE APPROVAL • Small Business –direct install measures combined with mix of prescriptive and custom projects. Intensive assistance on back end to help customer with bids, follow through to implement (jointly delivered with ComEd) • More details in the 10:15 breakout session!

  10. C&I Overview: 4 Core Programs (con’t) • Retro Commissioning– studies to look at facility operation, sequencing, controls and uncover natural gas and electric saving opportunities (jointly delivered with ComEd) • Aron Jarr will present more details during the 10:15 am breakout session!
