Program Objectives: • To reduce total consumption of motor fuel by state government resulting in a corresponding decline in expenditures. • To evaluate environmental and economic effects of using alternative transportation fuels.
Fuel Conservation for State Vehicles Objectives • To increase the number of alternative fuel vehicles in state fleets. • To use alternative fuel in alternative fuel vehicles.
Fleet Efficiency • Must purchase CAFE compliant passenger cars and light trucks. • Must meet or exceed the fuel efficiency that would be achieved if each vehicle met CAFE requirements.
AFV Parameters • 70%percent of all newly acquired eligible vehicles are AFVs. • 30% percent alternative fuel use of total fuel use in AFVs.
