Activate Prior Knowledge Danny dropped his backpack, and it made a loud sound. “Whew! My backpack weighs a ton!” exclaimed Danny. What did Danny mean? 1. His backpack weighs a ton. 2. His backpack is very heavy. Make Connection Students, what Danny means is that his backpack is very heavy!
