The Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP) is undergoing revisions of its guidelines for analytical methods and quality assurance to enhance monitoring efforts, particularly in nontidal waters. This update addresses the need for documented program requirements, consistent development of participant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the generation of comparable data among participants. The existing publication is outdated, relying on methods from the mid-1990s. The revisions will include updates on chlorophyll, light attenuation, and CDOM methods, as well as an overhaul of quality management and laboratory QA/QC practices.
