  1. Center for Surface Combat Systems (CSCS)AIM Utilization Mike Christoff 12-14 May, 2009 Orlando, FL

  2. Discussion Points • Use of Traditional AIM I/II LP/TG content • Electronic Classroom and ILT delivery • JTA/NJA/FEA data and process • Innovations on traditional model • ILE projects and CPM/LO Module

  3. Use of Traditional AIM I/II LP/TG Content • Most AIM II content used in OS, QM, and BM rate training is taught and managed as ILT • Most AIM I content used in FC, ET, IC, GM, STG, and MN rate training is taught and managed as ILT • Officer training is a mixture • Less than 10% of course content in “C”, “F” and “T” has an ILE component (blend) • OS “J” and ASA are exceptions; >90% ILE • CSCS houses over 45K hrs of course content in AIM I and over 17K hrs in AIM II • Estimate 70% of CSCS courses (over 600) are in AIM

  4. Electronic Classroom and ILT Delivery • Courses containing ILE component and/or IETM/ETM references have or share an ECR; variable capabilities and condition • Don’t know of any courses using electronic integration software for classroom delivery • Some schoolhouses (e.g. ATRC and FASW) operate from a local area network for electronic references and testing

  5. JTA/NJA/FEA Data and Process • Understanding is that our JTA data, developed several years ago, is dormant at this point • Reinvigorated TRPPM process brought about increased emphasis on FEA/JTA development in Acquisition • ACB12 (AEGIS Modernization) • CBSP (SHF Program) • GEDMS (Gig E Data Multiplex System)

  6. Innovations on Traditional Model • ATRC’s Virtual Training Paths • Originated under pretext of AJM and ILE funding/LCM • “C” school content chunked into Theory and Performance modules • Theory would become ILE • Encapsulates Revisions to chunks rather than lengthy courses • Similar to traditional pipeline • Resulted in over 250 new CINS/CDPS • CeTARS admin and student reporting “burden”

  7. ILE Projects and CPM/LO Module • CSCS focus this FY has been on LCM of current ILE content • Usage of current content is spotty • Some ILE content coming with new systems • GEDMS • CBSP (SHF) • No known CPM/LO development efforts underway in CSCS domain
