This is the Start screen and it will show you what you have looked at recently. Start by entering the Genus as name or Abbr and whether Species or Hybrid (left side) and then enter the name or part thereof. Let’s search for Cym madidum, the Australian species.

This is the Start screen and it will show you what you have looked at recently
Start by entering the Genus as name or Abbr and whether Species or Hybrid (left side) and then enter the name or part thereof
Cym madidum and you can see the list of this species on the left. Images and the information options are on the right
The middle buttons describe the orchid (below) and the remainder in this line give information useful for its culture
In the upper buttons, the ‘Profile’ button gives an overview of general information about the species
The ‘Awards’ button shows the details of those awarded plants in Orchidwiz.
The ‘F1 Offsp’ button brings up all hybrids with that species as one parent
Tapping the column name of any column brings it into alphabetical order for easier searching
The ‘Img Refs’ button brings up the list of published images
The ‘Gen Tree’ button brings up the family tree for that hybrid with images when available
‘Pedigree’ goes through the awards given to members of that plant’s background
‘Genealogy’ shows a pie chart of that hybrid’s species background, a very useful feature
The ‘Metrics’ button gives you the Award details for that plant
The ‘Cultivate’ button gives you information about the likely cultivation requirements for that hybrid, looking at its parentage
