  1. Who is Jesus? Pastor Rex Deckard Calvary Apostolic Church Des Moines, Iowa

  2. This question has • Puzzled theologians • Started wars • Divided religions • Generated entire books • Caused debates • Led many to prayer to ask Just who are you, anyway, Lord!

  3. Some dominant theories • He was a created being Jehovah say he was the archangel Michael, come to earth • He was an ascended Man Mormans think that he was Adam, and the brother of Satan • He was a portion of God Catholic say he was part of a triune god

  4. Still others say that…. • He was an enlightened teacher • He was a revolutionary • He was a social reformer • He was a spirit being (Gnostics) • He was a great prophet (Muslim) • He was an imposter (Judaism) But really, who was He? And how do we find out?

  5. Does it matter? • Jesus said, “Lest you believe that I AM HE, you shall die in your sins!” John 8:24-27

  6. The Bible must be our source of information in determining who Jesus was and is!

  7. To understand who Jesus is, we must first establish a few irrefutable facts

  8. There is only One God Mark 12:29...The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord. Deut. 6:4...the Lord our God is one Lord. Isaiah 9:6...I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

  9. .I Cor. 8:4...there is none other God but one. Eph. 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. I Tim. 2:5 For there is one God... James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble Isaiah 44:8...Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any

  10. This God was Spirit, and He was invisible except when He manifested Himself to man

  11. "A cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses", in Exodus 33:9b. Then, "the Lord spake with Moses face to face, as a man speaketh to a friend", in verse 11. Even though God was "face to face" with Moses, Moses did not actually see a face. The only physical manifestation was a cloud, for in verse 20, God said, "thou canst not see my face; for there shall no man see me, and live".

  12. Paul communicated the mystery to Timothy: "God was manifest in the flesh" (I Timothy 3:16), and to the Colossians, "In Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead (Greek: Deity) bodily" (Colossians 2:9).

  13. Isaiah prophesied that His name would be "Emmanuel", which means "God with us" (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23).

  14. Jesus is the Father "incarnate" - in flesh! Whereas God, in the Old Testament, had been revealed through His spoken and written Word, God, in the New Testament, is revealed in flesh. Hebrews 1:1 says that He "spake in times past unto the fathers by the prophets" but verse 2 says that "in these last days He hath spoken unto us by His Son"

  15. verse 3 tells us that the Son is "the brightness of His glory, and the express image of his person".

  16. The Corinthian church was taught that Christ is "the image of God" (II Corinthian 4:4). The Colossian church was taught that the Son is "the image of the invisible God" (Colossians 1:15). "It pleased the Father that in him (the Son) should all (the Father's) fullness dwell" (Colossians 1:19). That is why John said "the Word was made flesh".

  17. I’M GLAD I KNOW WHO JESUS IS I’M GLAD I KNOW WHO JESUS IS HE’S MORE THAN JUST STORY HE IS THE KING OF GLORY I’M GLAD I KNOW WHO JESUS IS

  18. THE MIGHTY GOD IS JESUS THE PRINCE OF PEACE IS HE THE EVERLASTING FATHER THE KING ETERNALLY THE WONDERFUL IN WISDOM ITS ALL IN HIM……
