  1. HOW TO CLONE IMAGES USING ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS Remove parts of photographs that you do not want and replace those areas with something cloned from another part of the photo. Get rid of ex-boyfriends, former spouses, and people who got in the way. Remove distracting elements. Rearrange the real world. The possibilities are endless!

  2. Start with a photograph that has some feature you want to remove. Click on the rubber stamp icon to activate the cloning tool. Cloningtool

  3. Hold down the Alt key while clicking on the photo to set the target (shown below as a blue circle with a + sign. Keep in mind the size of a pattern or the shadows that may be on it when selecting a cloning target. Point to the place to insert the cloned image and click --or click and drag -- to place it. The point of placement is shown at right by a black + sign.

  4. You may need to change your target point and your insertion point to take care of fine details. Click on some other icon in the toolbox, such as the eraser, then go back and start over by clicking the rubber stamp and resetting your indicators. (Clickelsewhereto re-set.) (Then click the cloning tool to start again.)

  5. The finished photo has no sign of electric wires marring the roof or tree leaves. The cloning tool accomplished this change.
