Where Did It All Start? • In 1981 Thebacha College in Fort Smith was established as part of the Adult Vocational Training Centre. • Thebacha then lead the way for the creation of Arctic College and ultimately lead to the creation the campuses and community learning centers that are now know as Aurora College.

  4. Where can you take it? DID YOU KNOW? There are 23 Learning Centers in the north There are 3 main CAMPUSES ACROSS THE NORTH: • Bechoko • Dettah/Ndilo • Fort Simpson • Fort Liard • Aklavik • Tulita • Hay River • Fort Good Hope • Norman Wells etc... Inuvik Fort Smith Yellowknife

  5. Want To Try Someplace New? University of Victoria University of Regina Nursing, Business Admin and Social Work students have the opportunity to transfer to one of these campuses University of Lethbridge

  6. Need Help? • Staff at the college are always happy to help you with what ever you need • Tutoring • Counseling • Finding financial Assistance • Making sure you have everything you need to succeed in your education

  7. Resources Aurora College is equipped with everything you need to succeed! • Library • Open: Mon-Thurs: 8:30-10:00pm, Fri: 8:30am-5:00pm, Sat-Sun: 2:00pm-9:00pm • Computer Labs • Tutors

  8. Student Housing in Yellowknife • Residence is available to all non-local students • Range in size from bachelor to 5 bedrooms for families • All you need to do is fill out an application!

Student Housing in Fort Smith and Inuvik • Fort Smith • Breynat Hall (single residence) • Family housing: • Aurora Gardens • Grand de tour • Thebacha Que • All differ in size • There are 1,2,3 and 4 bedroom units • These accommodations are provided to non-local students • Inuvik • Single residence • Family accommodations: • These consist of 3 bedroom unitsand are offered to students who are from out of town

  10. The Campus Canteen! • Didn’t have time for breakfast? Need an afternoon pick-me-up? • Visit the canteen on the main floor! You can get coffee, bagels, drinks, sandwiches, soup and more. • Hours of operation:Mon-Fri: 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

  11. Our Experience • After only three weeks I have settled into life at Aurora College and enjoy coming to class everyday. The teachers are dedicated to their jobs and do everything they can to ensure your success. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. • Life at Aurora College is great, it’s bustling with students, and the teachers are wonderful. It’s only blocks away from restaurants, coffee shops and anything else you might need. No matter what your circumstance Aurora College is always willing to help.
