From January 6th to 12th, 2008, volunteers from Livingston Cares traveled to Biloxi, MS, to assist in recovery efforts following Hurricane Katrina. Working at the Salvation Army Village, the team contributed to rebuilding efforts by helping with electrical work, roofing, and painting. They advanced their mission amidst the remnants of destruction, including boarded-up houses and garbage piles, reflecting on the significant water damage. This experience not only highlighted the resilience of the community but also underscored the importance of volunteer work in disaster recovery.
