  2. Go to www.yola.com

  3. Click on “Get started now.” • Enter the correct information for each box.

  4. At the next screen, type you name into the box. • Click in the lower left box that reads “Start with only a blank page.” (If the box doesn’t show, choose “Other.”) • Click on “Build it.”

  5. At this screen, click on “Save and start editing now” on the LEFT.

  6. Now, click on the green “Publish to the web” bar.

  7. Click on the bottom bar that reads, “Get a free Yola subdomain.” • Leave your first and last name in the box. • When you do, the site will check for your name availability. • Click next when it says your name is available.

  8. At the Congratulations screen, you will receive your URL. Make note of it. • Click on “Close” in the bottom, right hand corner.

  9. To choose your style, click on the “Style” pull down menu. • Choose “Change Style…”

  10. Click on “Free Styles” and • Select a professional looking Website style.

  11. Now it’s time to add pages and tabs! 

  12. Click on the “Page” pull down menu. • Choose “Add New Page.”

  13. In the “Name” box, type Resume. • In the “Heading box,” type Resume. • Click “OK.”

  14. Add another new page. • In both the “Name” and “Heading” boxes, type Personal Statement. • Click “OK.”

  15. Continue adding the following page tabs in the same way: Research Paper Product Presentation

  16. Let’s Add Text Widgets • You need to add a text widget (box) to the pages on which you’d like to type.

  17. Click on your “Resume” tab. • Drag a text widget and drop it into your work area. • Paste your resume into the space provided.

  18. Continue adding the required text widgets to these pages: • Personal Statement page • Research Paper page • Product page • Presentation page

  19. Click on your “Personal Statement” tab. • Drag a green column divider from the widgets on the right and drop it into your work area.

  20. Click on the column divider line and drag it to the right.

  21. Drag a text widget from the widget area and drop it into the left-hand column.

  22. Drag a picture widget from the widget area and drop it into the right-hand column.

  23. When you drag a picture widget to the work area, you will be prompted to upload a picture. • If your picture isn’t ready, click cancel and add it later.

  24. At this point, you can click into the blue text box and type your resume.

  25. Copy and Paste Tip • If you copy and paste your resume, it may not format correctly on Yola. • You can remove the formatting by first copying and pasting the document into a Notepad document. • Then copy and paste from Notepad.

  26. Your completed “Resume” page will include your resume and optional photo. • Do not add your personal contact information to this page.

  27. Click on your “Product Page” tab. • Add a column widget. • Then divide the column widget by adding two more column widgets: one on the left and one on the right.

  28. Add a picture or caption (text) to each column. • Repeat until you have created an attractive layout. • 4 pictures minimum!

  29. Add a line widget between columns to divide sections neatly. • Choose line color, style, and thickness.

  31. Let’s personalize your Home page!

  32. Click on your “Home” tab. • Revise the text in the box to include- • Your full name • Title of your project • Add a relevant picture • Delete the picture or text widgets you don’t need.

  33. When your site is complete, click on “Publish to the web” one more time. • Write down your Website address. • E-mail your site address to your teacher.

  34. Other Details • Save as you go. • Each time you make a change, you must click “Publish to the web”in order for the change to be visible to others.
