(Acts 1.8) How can I be baptized in the Holy Spirit? 1) Repent (a) Involvement with other spirits. (b) Unforgiveness. Following Jesus: Lesson Four B

  2. 2) Ask! Seek! Knock! Thirst! On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams – rivers – of living water will flow from within him.” (John 7.37-38) Dunamis dynamite and dynamo The story of the men in the Sahara desert!   3. 3) Believe – Trust! – and Receive Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said… The promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off , as many as the Lord our God will call. (Acts 2.39) Jesus breathed on the disciples and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit”. (John 20.22) Ask, believe – and receive INWARDS! Following Jesus: Lesson Four B

  4. 4) Let the rivers flow – OUTWARDS! All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. (Acts 2.4) While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. (Acts 10.44-46) In each case, they spoke in tongues. Following Jesus: Lesson Four B

  5. When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. (Acts 19.6) Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized. (Acts 9.17-19) I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. (1 Corinthians 14.18)  Stepping out – walking on water! Following Jesus: Lesson Four B
