Journal Prompt • On a separate piece of paper: • With only two units left of the semester, how do you feel about Geometry? • What was your favorite topic? • What was your least favorite? • How do you feel about your current grade? • What are you going to do to keep it up? • What are you going to do to bring your grade up? • Turn in to Mr. K

  2. Unit 9 Essential Questions • How do areas of similar polygons compare? • How are the areas of polygons and circles related and applied?

  3. Unit 9 Bonus Question • A farmer has a goat and he is trying to decide where to allow him to graze. • Option 1: He can be tethered to the side of a square 10ft by 10ft shed. The tethering rope is 18 feet long and tied to a post in the middle of one of the sides. • Option 2: A 14 feet by 17 feet rectangular fenced in area. He has a rhombus shaped shed in the middle of the fence that has a diagonal length of 4 feet and 3 feet that the goat will not be allowed to enter. • Which option should the farmer choose so the goat will have more area to graze? Provide mathematical reasoning behind your answer.
