Did you know? .…“Nearly 58% of low-income residents in Contra Costa County could not afford enough to eat in 2009.” California Food Policy Advocates and the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research “31% of adolescents ages 12- to 17-years-old, and one-in-three California children ages 9-11 years old, are at risk of or are already overweight.” “By 2030, medical costs associated with treating preventable obesity-related diseases are estimated to increase by $48 billion to $66 billion per year in the United States, and the loss in economic productivity could be between $390 billion and $580 billion annually.”Trust for America's Health (TFAH) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF).
