Eşref Apak: Turkish Hammer Thrower and Olympic Bronze Medalist

Eşref Apak, born in 1982 in Ankara, is a prominent Turkish hammer thrower. He gained international recognition at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where he won a bronze medal with a throw of 79.51 meters after the gold medalist was disqualified for doping. In 2005, Apak secured a gold medal at the Mediterranean Games in Almería with his personal best of 77.88 meters. His record throw of 81.45 meters was achieved on June 4, 2005, at the Cezmi Or Memorial Games, setting the Turkish national record.

  3. Eşref Apak was born in1982 in Ankara. He is a Turkishhammer thrower.

  4. Apak took part at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens and won a surprising bronze medal with 79.51 m after the gold medalist Hungarian athlete Adrián Annus was disqualified by IOC for a doping violation.

  5. In 2005 Apak participated at the 2005 Mediterranean Games in Almería and won the gold medal with his throw of 77.88 metres.

  6. His personal best performance, and Turkish record, is 81.45 metres set on 4 June 2005 at the Cezmi Or Memorial Games.
