This project, led by iRAP, aims to significantly improve road safety in Indonesia by identifying and addressing high-risk roads. With a vision for a world free of high-risk roads, iRAP collaborates with governments, NGOs, and development agencies to assess road safety and create actionable improvement plans. The Pantura demonstration project has analyzed critical intersections and road conditions, recommending significant investments to enhance infrastructure, such as establishing paved shoulders and footpaths. The initiative is set to prevent thousands of deaths and serious injuries annually, fostering safer transportation for all.

Demonstration Project • Assessment of Pantura • Recommendations for long-term program
Supporting Data • Traffic speeds • Countermeasure costs • Traffic volumes • Crash data • Economics
Detailed Condition Report (key points) • Speeds, 50km/h in urban and 70km/h inter urban • 36% - 4 or more lanes • 64% - undivided • 132 significant intersections • 73% - no paved shoulder • 75% - no footpaths • 95% - roadside hazards • 74% - roadside development • Cost of deaths and serious injuries: US$ 550 million
Star Ratings * Percentages for sections not rated not shown
Brebes -Tegal Vehicles: 50 km/h Hazardous roadside Important to manage speed One way Two straight wide lanes Sealed shoulders Good delineation No intersection
