  2. How Many Species of Stick Insects are There? • There are many types of stick insects, but people believe that there are 2500 different species in the world. • The reason there are so many species, is probably because they hide from predators very well.

How Do Stick Insects Hide From Predators? • Some stick insects hide from predators by changing color, sometimes according to the season. • Most stick bugs hide by blending into the environment with their twig-like figure. • Some of them hide by getting on the branch of a tree, and swinging side to side when the wind is blowing to make them look like a twig.

  4. What Do Stick Insects Eat to Survive? • Stick insects eat many types of leaves, but their favorite leaves to eat are oak and cherry.

  5. What are Some of the Predators of Stick Insects? • Stick insects have many predators, but the main predators of stick bugs are birds. • Some other predators of stick bugs are frogs, lizards, and mice.
