  1. TEACHING LEADERSHIP AT A YOUNG AGE - EDUKHOJ

  2. OVERVIEW In today’s competitive world one simply cannot escape a life full of challenges, cut-throat competition, societal & career pressures, and myriad roles & responsibilities. In the given scenario, it becomes highly important that we train today’s children handsomely for tomorrow’s leadership roles. Here are a few key leadership traits that our educational system must aim to inculcate in today’s youth:

  3. SELF-AWARENESS Self-awareness is to become aware of your strengths & weaknesses. Without self-awareness, a leader can never guide himself/herself in the right direction, let alone others. Developing self-awareness is a long-winded process, so training at an early age is a must for an individual to grow up to be a self-aware citizen.

  4. HONESTY GOES A LONG WAY Great leaders are honest, full of integrity and ethics. Honesty can be developed overnight; it is a way of life. Young minds are like clay in potter’s hands, they get shaped in the way they are moulded. So honesty and its real-world implications must be taught to a child from the very beginning.

  5. PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY A leader must anticipate all opportunities, threats, and possible propositions to find the most effective solution to the problem at hand. Teaching kids how to solve mathematical problems isn’t enough, but teaching them the real-world applications of those problems is the need of the hour.

  6. RELATIONSHIP BUILDING Fostering relationships with the community is an indispensable characteristic of an ideal leader. The ability to establish trust among your peers and form a favourable alliance is an essential element of effective leadership, which is much easier to develop at a young age.

  7. PRO-ACTIVENESS When you, as an individual, start taking initiatives and perform to the best of your ability, you start to inspire others as well. Children must be taught the many benefits of being proactive and must be encouraged to take more initiatives in their day-to-day lives.
