Discipleship Includes the Willingness to Suffer St. Peter Worship Sunday, September 24th
Welcome toSt. Peter! • Who is Jesus? Why did he come to earth anyway? What does it mean to be a disciple of Christ? These are all good and important questions that are answered in the Scripture readings, the hymns and the prayers in today’s service. We’re glad that you are here. As we worship together may we be strengthened by the gospel to faithfully confess and follow Jesus, and to carry our crosses and willingly suffer for his sake.

Prayer before Worship • Lord Jesus, you are the Christ, and you came to earth for the purpose of saving the world from the eternal damnation that we deserve because of our sins. Thank you for calling me to be one of your disciples. Strengthen me by your Word and Sacrament so that I may not waver in my faith in times of suffering. In your name. Amen.
Please be courteous and silence all pagers and cell phones. Thank you
OUR COMMUNION PRACTICE • In the Sacrament of Holy Communion, Jesus gives us his true body and blood. We express unity with our Savior and those who share our faith and stand on the teachings of God’s Word. • Therefore, we invite to our altar those who are members of our church or the WELS. Visitors and guests who wish to commune are asked to speak to a pastor before the service begins.
