  1. COMMITTED TO THE TRANSFORMING POWER OF SDA CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

  2. One of the major contributions of Adventist schools is to bring young people together in sufficient numbers so that they can make lifelong friends and meet spouses who share their vision of what is important in life.-George Knight-

  3. The commitment to Christian education rests solidly on the teachings of the Bible.

  4. TRUE CHRISTIAN EDUCATION: COMMITTED TO RESTORE IN MAN THE IMAGE OF HIS MAKER. -EG White-

  5. Let us FORM man in our image. And God said

  6. The Devil said I will DEFORM man by sin.

  7. We must CONFORM man in our image. The world says

  8. We will REFORM man by culture. Society says

  9. Education says Let us INFORM man by knowledge.

  10. Only Christ says I willTRANSFORMman by love

  11. Christian Education • God-centered • Christ-oriented • Bible-based

  12. Christian education leads students to Jesus Christ who has the power to transform us into His image.

  13. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”. 2 Timothy 2:15

  14. The Scriptures were not given just for our information, but for our transformation.

  15. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and perfect... good, acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:1, 2

  16. The image of Christ is to be stamped upon the very mind, heart, and soul.

  17. Last Will and Testament • I leave to society a bad example. • I leave to my friends the memory of a misspent life. • I leave to my father and mother all the sorrow they can bear in their old age.

  18. Last Will and Testament • I leave to my wife a broken heart. • I leave to my children the name of a drunkard and a suicide. • I leave to God a lost soul, who has insulted His mercy.

  19. EDUCATION FAILED TO TEACH HIM • That God loves him unconditionally • That no matter what the problem is, there is a way of escape • That if he confessed God will forgive him

  20. EDUCATION FAILED TO TEACH HIM • That God would never leave him • That after death there comes the resurrection • That one day he must face the Judgment of God

  21. It is the object of Christian education to develop in students deep moral and ethical convictions, so that they can function in the real world and prepare themselves for the world to come.

  22. A student entering the real world should have: • A sense of what true value and true virtues are. • A sense to choose the right and shun the wrong. • A sense to make good moral judgment and avoid evil • A sense of morality, decency, dignity, and devotion to duty.

  23. A deep sense of an inner conviction • JOSEPH who when tempted by the wife of Potiphar exclaimed How can I do this great wickedness and sin against God? (Genesis 39:9) • ESTHER who was willing to give up her life to save the lives of God’s people and said If I perish, I perish. (Esther 4:16)

  24. A deep sense of an inner conviction • DANIEL who when offered the king’s food purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself.(Daniel 1:8) • MOSES who when confronted with insurmountable problems told the Israelites Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. (Exodus 14:13)

  25. A deep sense of an inner conviction • JOSHUA who boldly proclaimed As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. (Joshua 24:15) • RUTH who made a courageous decision to leave the gods of Moab behind and declared Your God will be my God. (Ruth 1:16)

  26. Commitment to the transforming power of Christian education a living union of administrators, faculty and staff with the eternal and infinite pattern of God’s truth

  27. Commitment to the transforming power of Christian education lecturers who see their subjects, whether scientific, historical, mathematical, technological, literary, or artistic as included within the pattern of God’s truth

  28. lecturers who bring alive in the heart and mind of the students the grand concept of a Christ who is the image of the invisible God by whom all things were created, who were before all things, and by whom all things consist or hold together

  29. revealing God’s truth beyond the church and the classroom to the dormitories, playgrounds, offices, extra-curricular activities and administrative responsibilities which include counseling, discipline, and even advertising

  30. administrators, faculty, staff, and students feeding on God’s word daily.

  31. students who are willing to learn from the feet of Jesus, the Master Teacher.

  32. “What I taught with my lips, I seal with my blood.”-John Hus-

  33. "Half commitment" is the hesitation between following Christ and being merely religious. • "Half commitment" is spouting pious words about submission while resisting all authority.

  34. "Half commitment" is justifying everything you want to do because, if you were God, you would let you do it.

  35. "Half commitment" is choosing convenience as preferential to costly sacrifice. • "Half commitment" is being an admirer of Jesus without being His disciple.

  36. "Half commitment" talks much, sings some, gives little, cares less, criticizes a lot, and serves never. • "Half commitment" creates sour servants, frustrated fellowships, belligerent believers, and foolish witnesses.

  37. To seek and to save that which was lost • Those who know that they are lost but cannot find their way back by themselves. • Those who are lost and do not even know that they are lost. • Those who believe that they are lost and feel that it is the right thing to be lost.

  38. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2
