It is the sincere mission of the department as a whole to foster and encourage fair-play and competitive excellence in compliance with NCHSAA policies, while emphasizing importance in diversity, inclusion, equality and social responsibility. MANTEO HIGH SCHOOL - REDSKINS Booster Club The Manteo Booster Club was created to promote athletic programs, increase community interest, recognize the endeavors and achievements of teams and individual athletes, and to assist the athletic department, coaches and administrative staff. Fundraising efforts enable the club to fund scholarships to graduating seniors. The club also purchases trophies and plaques for each varsity sport here at Manteo. The club also purchases items and equipment to enhance all athletic programs here at Manteo High School. The involvement consists of both volunteers, and the financial support required to foster the development of our student athletes, and to maintain a high quality athletic program. Community and parent involvement is the key to a successful athletic booster club. We want to have every parent be a member, and if capable, be involved in the club. By becoming an active member, you enhance your abilities to provide for all athletic teams and student athletes. Cost: $5.00 manteoathletics.com

MANTEO HIGH SCHOOL - REDSKINS Social Media • - Students must learn to use social media in a proper and responsible way. • If an incident where a student improperly uses social media, or they represent MHS or its sports team in a negative way, is brought to the attention of school personnel, disciplinary action may be taken. • * Parents should also use social media in a responsible way. manteoathletics.com
MANTEO HIGH SCHOOL - REDSKINS Attendance • A student athlete may not practice/play if he/she is absent from school unless he/she: • Arrives at school by 10:40 a.m. and remains until regular dismissal time; • Is granted permission by the principal (proper notification and excuse must be presented prior or on arrival of being late. • Note: the same philosophy indicated in the first bullet pertains also to a student-athlete who has an early dismissal; in general, attendance for the one-half of the school day is required for practice/play. manteoathletics.com
MANTEO HIGH SCHOOL - REDSKINS Fees/Sports Equipment At the conclusion of a season, or at the conclusion of a athlete’s sport, student-athletes must turn in all uniforms and equipment that were issued to them by the school or coach. If students fail to turn in equipment they were not be allowed to participate in any other sports/extracurricular activities until they have done so. This also applies to other school fees (lunch, class fees, etc.) manteoathletics.com
MANTEO HIGH SCHOOL - REDSKINS Away Games • - Students may ride home with a legal parent or guardian after an away game. • They may ride with another teammates’ parents if they have a signed note from their legal parent/guardian. • Coaches have the authority to make it mandatory that student-athletes ride home with their team on the bus following away games. manteoathletics.com
MANTEO HIGH SCHOOL - REDSKINS Discipline Procedures • Misdemeanors (other than minor traffic violation) • - Student needs to self-report incident to Principal and Coach on the first possible school day. If this is not done students may be dismissed from the team. • Student will be suspended from sports play for 20 school days during a sports season. (required to practice with team) • Further disciplinary action can be taken by the coach. manteoathletics.com
MANTEO HIGH SCHOOL - REDSKINS Discipline Procedures • Felony Charges • A student’s participation in practices and games is suspended indefinitely unless the student is exonerated. • If convicted a student is not eligible to participate in athletics for the remainder of the student’s high school career. • Failure to report arrests may result in dismissal from the team. manteoathletics.com
MANTEO HIGH SCHOOL - REDSKINS Necessary Forms Physical Form – good for 365 days, one calendar year Concussion – good for one full school year. Disciplinary Procedures – good for one full school year. Emergency Contact – good for one full school year. Parent Pledge – good for one full school year. Student Pledge – good for one full school year. School Year is July to June.
