To refresh our memories… Benefits of Enterprise AD Exchange Sharepoint OCS File sharing Active Directory IIS & SQL Printing AV & Patch Mngt Workstation Mngt • Enables UNM departments to redirect resources for department-specific needs. • Enables effective delegation of authority. • Allows for collaboration between UNM departments by utilizing a common toolset. • Makes the ‘stack’ of services possible – supports integrated Microsoft and third-party applications. • Enables UNM IT to provide and manage enterprise-class directory and system management services that are reliable, scalable and secure. • Provides consistent support and implementation of university security and system management standards. • Reduces total cost of ownership for UNM by eliminating duplication of services.

  4. Background 2007 – IT Agents requested one Active Directory for UNM. 2008 – AD Committee was formed. AD Project started. 2009 - Pilot migration was completed. AD Standard and Design documents were established. 2010 - Migrating departments.
