  7. The God Who Is Holy Holiness is that which makes God God. “Biblically, holiness carries with it the common ancient idea of separateness, difference, not the same, other than!” Jim McGuiggan The God Of The Towel p. 69

  8. The God Who Is Holy “Holy” - to be set apart. As applied to God, it is the one characteristic that sets Him apart from His creation - He is “other” than His creation; He transcends it and reigns over it; there is nothing or no one else like Him.

  9. The God Who Is Holy Isaiah 6:1-4 Isaiah saw himself as he really was. Exodus 3:1-6 Moses showed enormous reverence and godly fear.

  10. The God Who Is Holy 2 Samuel 6:1-7 Negligence in treating God irreverently will not be tolerated. Leviticus 10:1-3 Approaching God casually that leads to disobedience will not be tolerated.

  11. The God Who Is Holy Practical Applications: 1. Whenever we see God for who He is, we will then see ourselves for who we really are. 2. Coming to understand God’s holiness should invoke the deepest respect and honor we can give to Him.

  12. The God Who Is Holy Practical Applications: 3. Respecting God’s holiness includes respecting what God has said. 4. God’s holiness should invoke in us changed lives (1 Pet. 1:14-16).

  13. The God Who Is Holy We serve a holy God, and it is this holy God upon whom we stand and upon whose promises we stand. Therefore, “Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of the body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.” 2 Corinthians 7:1
