  2. FACTA Timeline • Since the beginning of time… • Exams were given at colleges and universities • A large scale testing association for administrators did not exist in Florida

  3. FACTA Timeline • Distance learning drastically increased the number of exams administered by colleges and universities in Florida • However, a large scale association for Test Administrators had not been created

  4. FACTA Timeline – Blueprint • In May 2008, North Campus President, Dr. Jose A. Vicente, planted the seed for a large scale state-wide testing association • The seed was nurtured by the Test Administrators at Miami Dade College and Cynthia Cerrato from Valencia Community College • The National College Testing Association strongly encourages and supports the establishment of state-wide testing associations

FACTA Timeline – Foundation • FACTA born on date • The first organizational meeting was at Valencia Community College on September 17, 2008 • Hosted by Cynthia Cerrato and her staff • Lunch was sponsored by ACCUPLACER (our 1st sponsor) • Presented the new i3 platform • Bylaws, Public Relations, Communications

  6. FACTA – The Early Days • The 2nd meeting was at Pasco-Hernando Community College (Feb. 2009) • 66 attendees, 36 institutions represented • FLDOE • Julie Alexander, Mike Jones, John Hughes • Established Officers and Committee Chairs • Multiple sponsors and presentations

  8. Return To Our Birthplace • FACTA meeting Valencia Community College • September 2009 • Introduction of an Exemplary Practice presentation • Coordination with FLDOE for FTCE state-wide meeting

FACTA Mission and Vision Statements • The mission of the Florida Association of College Test Administrators (FACTA) is to enhance the professional growth and communication among test administrators employed by State of Florida SACS accredited postsecondary institutions. This is accomplished by working in partnership with the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), Florida Board of Governors (BOG), testing agencies, and by keeping the needs of the employee's institution at the center of decision-making. • FACTA will become an invaluable resource to all professionals in the State of Florida and a respected partner with the FLDOE, BOG, and sanctioned test vendors.
