EU Civil Society Contact Group - a strategic alliance The EU Civil Society Contact Group brings together eight large rights and value based NGO sectors - culture, environment, education, development, human rights, public health, social and gender equality. Brings the views and interests of rights and value based civil society organisations. Objective is to encourage and promote a transparent and structured civil dialogue that is accessible, properly facilitated, inclusive, fair and respectful of the autonomy of NGOs.

  3. 2013 Citizens’ Summit • There are EU Values and priorities in treaties that are not being respected • The response to the crisis and prevalence of economic objectives commonly affected all sectors • An event to gather participants from different networks was identified to be most effective way • Our targets were within networks • Out goal was to start a process to hold the Summit and EU governments to account • Start a debate on the future of the EU before the elections
